Dear Diary..

its been quite sometime since my last update, right?

so.. whats been happening around me?

well, i managed to finish that hell of a week; can u imagine working 12hr shifts, night shifts including, for 5 days in a week?? geez. they should report this kinda work schedule to Manpower branch and rewards the workers accordingly!

but i guess its nt the planner's fault la.. i took off last week fri and had my fair share of the long weekend. no complains! :)

wednesday, was called to Thom's office. he had asked me to fill in my well-wishings for C and K, the november babies of E2. heck, i wasn't even sure i should be crying, or not. how could they have missed out that one and most important birthday card of the month!? (*ahem*)

well, life goes on.

until late-afternoon, K decided to ask me for a break. nothing special, we do that when there isnt really much to do, anyway. but break's aint at the usual smokin' point today; a blue envelop with my name on it wa thrusted deep into my hands and lights went off.

"Happy birthday to you~~"

so, they did not forget my special month after all!

im so touched, yet as a guy, i know i shouldn't allow such act of sissiness be displayed in office.. =]

that made kokkie happy the rest of the day. not thinking about what im gonna get for the the other november babies, not thinkin' whats gonna happen after november, not thinking how im gonna end 2007 the way i had wished for at the start of the year.

ah well.

does anyone know Tong Shui Cafe's at bugis now!? hey, i din know! it was my virgin visit on wed night! :P

ok la, food was not as la-fantastika as they hyped it to be. noormer lei.. price-wise, i should say its rather reasonable. can try a couple more times before i sick of that place.

anyway, there's already so many other HK cafes in and around SG. what could be so special about each and everyone of them when all they serve is "stocking" teh-peng, man-made flavoured ice-mountains, instant noodles with luncheon meat 'n egg, and of cos, toast with a ridiculously-sinful amount of jam, honey or peanut butteR?

think, try 1, maybe 2.. up to say, 3 times in a month. maybe max 4-5 lah. that should change ur desire to hang out at such HK cafes for at least the next few weeks to come ;)

Deepavali, i spent time helpin Uncle Alex with his new condo at SengKang. nothing fancy.. but still, its an accomplishment.. =]

supposedly to be ktv day, with 1 session in the afternoon, and the other in the night. well, planned 2, even with 1 cancelled, should at least make the last 1 and only session work out right?

tio cancelled. arGh!~ and i tot i could put my digicam to good use today!

nonetheless, chicken rice at KSC still deserved 2 thumbs-up (if i got 3, i'd gladly give it to 'em). success is nothing without consistency, and this is one thing i find lacking in most food stalls out there, 'cept this one. still as good as ever ;)

walkin' thru that snack stall me and fatty used to pass by whenever we go parkway circus, fondly reminded of what i used to be; snackin on 10-cent biscuit which that pri-sch canteen unker used to hawk (hey, can u believe it; i think i still rembr that unker's face u know!), how i used to scrimp every single cent just so that i can buy that 20-cent animal-shaped biscuit pack which i nimbled on everytime im on the sch bus home, with other kids munchin on Pocky (i think it used to cost like 60c or a dollar? it still cost a dollar now ;) ) i can only watch on in envy.

still that doesnt stop me from sharing whatever cheap0 biscotti i had with my closer fatty frens! :D

and i think someone dislikes plum candy as much as i do! (Disclaimer: no special meaning ah, only literally!)

the rest of the day was spent trying to tune that 50" projection tv Unker Alex gave away. its been really quite sometime (i think at least 10 yrs??) since the 4 brothers and the old man sat down on the sofa, watching chow xing xing movies and laughing ourselves silly.

yea, we used to laugh at such lame cracks; we still do now! timeless classics like these have no expiry dates. and definitely no embarassment at all ;)

Friday.. its back to office at night -- again. im not complaining, just that, resuming work after a holiday, no matter how short it had been, always felt lethargic. hey, hey.. dont get me wrong ya? im not trying to condemn holidays ah.. (who in the right mind would, anyway? esp in sillypore? =] )

im beginning feel what most ppl dislike about night shifts, and that is the irregular sleep hrs. i cant slp at all when i got home at 9am! ended up recovering Yama's and Leon's crashed hard disks. no words of thanks? not that im a sucker for thanks; u can still say it without actually meaning it, ya?

aww well.. i suppose i just gotta get used to Sillypore's Asian-style of communication, esp after having spent close to a quarter century here, huh?

but seriously hor, words of appreciation.. really that hard to pronounce meh? =\
