Thursday, May 31, 2007 vesak dayVesak day, 'tis when Buddhists are supposed to go green and abstain from meat..My family of 6 had Japanese food for lunch. loads of raw sashimi, tuna, mackerel and sea bream, chawanmushi, unagi, ika, mussels.. and to top it up, guess what? we're all Buddhist! not that i go to temple often, nor think of Buddha or any other deity constantly (i think of food more than these). of cos, tis doesn't mean i ain't sincere. just that im a Buddhist by family nature. i don eat beef though. partly due to religion, and partly myself. i dunno? i don feel good if i have to eat beef. tried once and was full of guilt. the feeling's akin to committing adultery. and in case ur thinking what im thinking u are thinking.. nope, i din commit adultery before. aiyah, jus describing only lah! prolly due to the fact that abstaining from beef's became a habit? and habits are hard to break, ya know? jus like trying to forget something, or someone, jus like this > *snapz fingers* is that you i saw today? pls, tell me i got the wrong person. cos it hadn't been easy trying to forget. |
